Our Beliefs

We are an interconnected community of Orthodox, Reformed, Missional, Evangelical, Authentic, Christ-followers.

In core belief, ORTHODOX
We affirm the traditional beliefs of the church as summarized in the Apostle’s Creed:

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

In interpretation, REFORMED
We affirm the basic tenets of the reforming faith which sought to establish the church for the glory of God on the centrality of Jesus Christ, the power of the Holy Spirit, the authority of the Bible and the priesthood of all believers.

In application, MISSIONAL
The church is the "missio dei" (mission of God), being God's people and doing God's work in His world- transforming lives and building God's Kingdom.

In outreach, EVANGELICAL
"Evangel" simply means "good news." We want to share the best news the world has ever heard: God is love. We want to share that news in all we do and say.

In attitude, AUTHENTIC
We seek to create a "come as you are" culture at Connections through meeting and receiving people where they are at, while moving closer to God together.

In all things, CHRIST-FOLLOWERS
We call on Jesus, the Christ, as our Saviour, the one holy one sacrificed to save us from the consequences of our sin so that we may live in relationship with God the Father, by the filling of the Holy Spirit; and as our Lord, the one whom we follow in all areas of our lives, now and forever.
