Our Values

What we value most is being a church that is characterized by love above all things. The Bible teaches us that "God is love," (1 John 4:16) and that "God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)

  1. We love God
We love the truine God of grace-Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who first loved us. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment." Matthew 22:37, Deuteronomy 6:5.
  2. We love People
We are cultivating a "come as you are" culture in the church. "Love your neighbor as yourself." Matthew 22:39, Leviticus 19:18
  3. We love the Church
The church is the body of Christ. Out of love we invite and bring others to be part of our community. "Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her..." Ephesians 5:25
  4. We love Growth
Healthy organisms grow! Churches should be growing in maturity and impact-larger in worship and smaller in groups. "They devoted themselves to the apostle's teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer... and the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." Acts 2:42, 47
  5. We love Service
The members of the church are the ministers of the church. Everyone is gifted and called to serve. "Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do." James 2:18
  6. We love Biblical Truth and Cultural Relevance
The Bible is God's unique and authoritative revelation for all people, teaching us how to live and love in the world. "All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." 2 Timothy 3:16
  7. We love Creativity, Authenticity and Excellence
We honour God and begin reaching our potential when we offer our best. "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed." Proverbs 16:3
  8. We love Unity in Diversity
Focusing on what unites us, celebrating each person's unique identity, embracing people of every tribe and nation. "The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts, and though all its parts are many, they form one body." 1 Corinthians 12:12
  9. We love Generosity
Joy is found in generosity-a radical generosity of time, talents, and resources in community. "It is more blessed to give than to receive." Acts 20:35
  10. We love Life Change
God loves us just as we are, but he loves us so much that he won't leave us as we are—he wants to transform our lives in Christ. "Do not be conformed any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:2
